Playmobil Wiltopia: wild animals made from recycled plastic

What is Wiltopia?

Playmobil Wiltopia is about wild animals and the people who study and care for them. With the figures, children travel to different habitats, such as the Amazon and the Serengeti, and learn which animals live where. Playmobil launched the line on 5 June 2022, World Environment Day.

According to Playmobil, some sets include collector cards with a QR code that leads to more about the animal.

Made from recycled plastic

According to Playmobil, Wiltopia is made on average from over 80% recycled and bio-based plastic. Part of the recycled plastic comes from old fridges: the recycling company Coolrec recovers it. In 2023 Wiltopia was named “Europe’s Top New Sustainable Toy Brand of the Year”, as the best-selling new sustainable toy brand.

Animals and play sets

The smallest sets are single animals, often with a young one, such as the alpaca, the giraffe, the dolphin and the baby elephant. They let you grow a world step by step.

Bigger sets give the animals a place and a story: the research station with compass, the boat trip to the manatees, coral reef research, the trip to the watering hole and, largest of all, the animal care centre.

Wiltopia or Schleich Wild Life?

With Wiltopia you play with Playmobil figures, vehicles and buildings; the animals belong to a story about research and care. With Schleich Wild Life the animals themselves are the focus, as detailed figures. If a child already plays with Playmobil, Wiltopia fits right in.
