Christmas and Saint Nicolas: play sets by budget

In France Christmas presents are opened on the evening of 24 December or the morning of the 25th. In the north-east, notably Lorraine and Alsace, Saint Nicolas is also celebrated on 6 December.

If you give at several moments in December, choose small sets for the early surprises and a bigger one for Christmas. Sets from the same theme then complete each other.

Small surprises

For a small surprise, single figures, an animal or a small scene work well. Our budget category up to €15 lists the sets whose lowest price currently falls within it.

Small sets from a theme the child already has are a safe choice: they fit straight in with what is already there.

The big present

For the main present, look at the budgets from €30 to €60 and from €60: that is where the larger play worlds and building sets are. Check the space a set needs once built.

If you give together with family, agree who buys which set from the theme, so nothing ends up under the tree twice.
