Christmas: play sets by budget

In Sweden Christmas presents are opened on Christmas Eve, 24 December. Many families also give small presents in the weeks before, for example in an advent calendar.

If you buy for both, choose small sets for December and a bigger one for Christmas Eve. Sets from the same theme then complete each other.

Advent surprises and small presents

For an advent surprise or a small present, single figures, an animal or a small scene work well. Our budget category up to SEK 150 lists the sets whose lowest price currently falls within it.

Small sets from a theme the child already has are a safe choice: they fit straight in with what is already there.

The big present

For the main present, look at the budgets from SEK 300 to 600 and from SEK 600: that is where the larger play worlds and building sets are. Check the space a set needs once built.

If you give together with family, agree who buys which set from the theme, so nothing ends up under the tree twice.
