Playmobil: a few new worlds every year
Playmobil releases a few advent calendars each year, each with its own theme. In the North Pole calendar you build a Christmas world with Santa, elves, a reindeer and a post office. Other calendars are about a police museum theft or a Christmas under the rainbow.
For the youngest there is the Junior calendar with water toys, from 1 year. The parts are bigger and can go in the bath.
Schleich and Play-Doh
Schleich makes advent calendars for its series, such as Horse Club, Farm World and Wild Life, with an animal, figure or accessory behind each door. ToySetFox does not compare shops for the Schleich calendars yet; each calendar's page shows it as soon as a shop sells it.
The Play-Doh advent calendar has dough and moulds instead of figures. Nice for a child who prefers crafting to playing with figures.
How to choose
Pick a theme your child already plays with: the figures from the calendar then simply join the toy box. Follow the age and warnings on the box, because most calendars contain small parts. Compare prices early: in December they are often higher or sold out.
Frequently asked questions
Which Playmobil advent calendar is new?
Playmobil releases a few new calendars every year. This page shows the calendars shops sell now, such as the North Pole. Each product page shows which shops have it and at what price.
From what age is a toy advent calendar?
The box says so. The Playmobil Junior calendar starts at 1 year, most other Playmobil calendars at about 4 years. Calendars for older children contain small parts.
When should you buy an advent calendar?
The calendar starts on 1 December, so buy it in October or November. Each brand has only a few, and they sometimes sell out quickly.
